Alberta Black Bear Hunting
First, it was becoming cost prohibitive to haul the bait five hundred (500) miles and hire someone to keep the baits active. Secondly, it was difficult to convince myself and others that sitting in a tree waiting for a bear to come along to eat bait was hunting. With the new system (Spot and Stalk) we actually go out and look for bears by driving around in half ton trucks and ATV’s. Once spotted, we stalk the bear to within shooting range. The area we hunt are Zones 346, 347 and 349. This area is all government owned land with no one living in the area. These three (3) zones are in the middle of a very large oil and gas field. Because of the need for access to well sites, there are hundred of miles of gravel roads and all these roads have had the ditches seeded to grass and clover to prevent erosion. The seeded grass si the first green vegetation that there is available in the spring that not only attracts bears but also attracts moose, deer and elk.
We will be doing two (2) hunts of six (6) days each in the last two (2) weeks of May. The Alberta Back Bear Hunt is from Monday to Saturday and we take six (6) hunters per week. Each of the three (3) guides take two (2) hunters and the hunt is for two (2) bears (and we don’t count a wounded bear as a dead bear), wolf, coyote and a beaver. The shots are anywhere from 50 to 200 yards, and we suggest 30 cal and UP. But the most important thing to bring on this hunt is proficiency with a gun and a positive attitude.

Hunting in Alberta gives the best opportunities to sight and shoot a trophy whitetail deer. First, we can hunt one half hour before and after daylight, and, further, we can hunt on private land, with permission, as well as government land. Black Bear Hunting
Alberta, Canada is renowned for its abundant black bear population. We offer wolf and coyote hunting during the black bear hunt as well. Moose
Hunting moose in November is best as the moose are in better shape and the meat is much better than when the moose are in the rut. In most of the areas we hunt moose, we also have allocations for mule deer, black bear, whitetail deer, wolf, and coyote. VIEW OUR Our Friends: Raphael's Mucho Loco Sportfishing |
